We are responsible and accountable for the entire SLC IT infrastructure that supports an enterprise wide network. We operate a platform- centric environment focused on the provision of end to end services for our customers, aligned to our key business processes of Apply, Assess, Pay and Repay.

The Banking Platform team ensure the integrity, security and onward development of the SLC systems that support payment and repayment processes. We are focused on delivery of a secure and enhanced banking platform to protect a multi-billion £ public asset to the high watermark of CESG, GDS, FCA, PRA and others.

    • Design Authority

The Design Authority is an energetic and proactive team that works across SLC on all aspects of change to the Customer Journey, Business Processes and Technology.

The Information Security Team is a growing team of security specialists. We offer the opportunity to get hands on with cutting edge security tools in a highly varied environment, with a focus on training and a positive engagement to facilitate a high performing organisation.

Digital Development

The Digital Development team at SLC strive to improve the solution as well as the development process.

Its works in agile, multi-disciplinary teams – developers, test, business analysts and product owners all work together to develop great products for our customers, be they internal or external. Everyone works collaboratively to deliver measurable improvements in customer satisfaction.

Using open source technology like MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Puppet, DropWizard, and Capistrano, we are making continuous improvement and continuous deployments driving regular benefits for our customers.

The SLC PMO provides the strategies, governance, methods and teams to implement change across the organisation.

We take business and technology needs, government policy decisions and transformational change and manage their E2E implementation. A variety of opportunities exists at SLC, from managing a technology refresh to the introduction of bespoke IT systems and business services.

Design Authority

The Design Authority is an energetic and proactive team that works across SLC on all aspects of change to the Customer Journey, Business Processes and Technology.

We define the end to end architecture across business, application, technical and user experience. We ensure all architectures and designs align with the Vision and strategic direction of the company, and that processes and technology conform to the required legislative requirements.

We have individuals embedded in Agile project teams, leading technical business and user centric design on a day to day basis as well as various projects across the business.

Security

The Information Security Team is a growing team of security specialists. We offer the opportunity to get hands on with cutting edge security tools in a highly varied environment, with a focus on training and a positive engagement to facilitate a high performing organisation.

We ensure information assets and systems are adequately protected, with a broad remit that covers Computer Security Incident Response, Cyber Security, Information regulatory compliance (e.g., PCI DSS, UK Data Protection Act 1998) and Information Technology Controls, Security Architecture and Design.

Infrastructure Platform

We are a large team with a broad remit covering the management of the secure data centres that host all of the systems delivered by SLC to users and customers; provision of core desktop, communications services and release management services; hardware (servers and storage), operating systems and networking design, build and support.
