Information that is stored in soft copy within SLC, but is
archived, may attract a relatively small charge for the retrieval
of that document depending upon the document requested. SLC
will advise you of the likely charge for retrieving this
information at the outset of the information request.
We reserve the right to impose charges for providing information
in paper copy or on CD-Rom. Charges will reflect the actual costs
of reproduction and postage to SLC. Where possible, we have
highlighted where charges will apply for each particular document
and we will supply details of the charges on request. Information
will not be provided to you until payment has been received.
We further reserve the right to impose charges for providing
information which is not otherwise required by law or is
information which we may withhold because the cost of complying
with the information request exceeds the statutory limit of
£600.
We will pass on postage charges to the requester at the cost to
SLC of sending the information by first class post.
Under the Disability Discrimination Act we have a duty to
provide services, including making information physically
accessible when providing it. This may, for example, involve
producing it in a larger script or different format where it is
practicable to do so. The costs of this will be met by SLC.
The following documents give an overview of which format each
class of information is available in and show where charges will
