Phishing Update

Protecting our customer's security is our top priority. That's why we are working with customers to help them avoid their accounts being targeted by fraudsters. So far this year the security and fraud prevention team has closed down over 1400 external phishing sites after they were reported to us.

As part of our fraud prevention strategy, we are currently contacting some customers by telephone to advise them of the security steps they should follow to ensure their details are protected.
We have been working with Metropolitan Police by providing details of student loan phishing cases for investigation. This has recently resulted in six arrests for £1 million phishing scam which targeted hundreds of UK students.

We regularly advise students of our top tips to avoid phishing and work closely with universities across the UK.
