The majority of students in England have been paid their funding & the Student Loans Company continues to pay students once they register and attend their courses. Statistics from 14 October show that 814,000 students have been paid their university funding so far, 54,000 (7%) more than this time last year, from an application total that has increased by 3%. A further 49,000 students are ready to be paid once they have registered and had their attendance confirmed by their university.

Statistics from 14 October show that 814,000 students have been paid their university funding so far, 54,000 (7%) more than this time last year, from an application total that has increased by 3%.

A further 49,000 students are ready to be paid once they have registered and had their attendance confirmed by their university.

The statistics, which are published today (Tuesday 25 October), show that the number of live applications for core support is 1,001,000 of which:

  • 904,000 (90%) core support applications have been prepared for payment of which 865,000 have a maintenance support entitlement.
  • 50,000 (5%) core support applications have been received, assessed and approved and just require the customer to sign a declaration form.
  • 25,000 (3%) core support applications are awaiting further details or evidence from the applicant and/or their sponsor(s) before they can be progressed.
  • 22,000 (2%) core support applications are currently being assessed by Student Finance England i.e. the Student Loans Company.

We have been regularly prompting students and sponsors to submit the evidence or declaration forms required to complete their applications.
