Part-time Loans service for 2015/16 is now open

08 June 2015

We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2015/16 Student Finance Wales service for new and continuing part-time loans students.

Practitioners can bulk order new and continuing part-time student application packs and we will post you the packs to distribute to prospective and continuing students. Packs include an application form and information on how to apply and repay. Students can also download the application forms from www.studentfinancewales.co.uk.

New part-time or distance-learning students starting a course in 2015/16 should apply for student finance now.

New students can get financial support to help pay for tuition fees and course costs, and most students won’t have to pay their tuition fees up front.

A Tuition Fee Loan is available from Student Finance Wales to new part-time students. This has to be paid back. Students might also be able to get a Course Grant, which doesn’t have to be paid back.

New students can download a Tuition Fee Loan and Course Grant application form for new part-time students (PTL1) from the Student Finance Wales site.

Continuing part-time students who started a part-time course on or after 1 September 2014 should re-apply for student finance now.

Students can download a Tuition Fee Loan and Course Grant application form for continuing part-time students (PTLC) from the Student Finance Wales site.

Continuing fee grant students

Continuing students who started a part-time course before 1 September 2014 will be able to apply for a fee grant for 2015/16 from late June. They may also be eligible for a Course Grant.

Resources for practitioners

We’ve produced a series of resources for you to use with part-time students, which are available to download from www.studentfinancewales.co.uk/practitioners. You will find a quick guide and factsheet explaining what loans and grants are available for part-time study and a more detailed main guide.

And, please share our Loans for part-time study film with your students. This is available to watch on our YouTube channel.
