If you are moving overseas for more than three months, completing an overseas income assessment form will enable us to assess your level of repayment. You must let the Student Loans Company know before you leave the UK. We will ask for information about your earnings and provide you with a monthly repayment schedule.

Please note: This form should only be completed and returned to the Student Loans Company once your account enters repayment. Repayments start of the April following your graduation date or the date you leave your Course.
The repayment threshold for residents who live in the United Kingdom is currently set at £15,000. In other words, graduates and former students with an annual salary of over £15,000 are required to repay their loans.
If you are an overseas resident, the Student Loans Company work out your monthly repayment schedule using the same principles as for those who stay in the UK. So, you will repay 9% of your earnings over the repayment threshold.
To take account of differences in living costs, the repayment threshold in a foreign country will not necessarily be the same as in the UK. We will update the thresholds each year to take account of price changes.
The following table shows what your repayment threshold will be if you move to another country after completing your course. It also shows the monthly default repayment amount, which is how much we would expect you to repay each month if you do not inform us of your actual income while overseas.
