Top Prize for Student Loans Contact Centre Manager

Contact centre manager Lauren Suttie has scooped top prize at the CCA Excellence Awards.

Lauren, who works at the headquarters of the Student Loans Company in Glasgow, was awarded gold in the Emerging Leaders category at the event which celebrates customer service and the contact centre profession. 

The Student Loans Company handles over 4.5 million calls from students and graduates from across the UK every year. 

Lauren said: “I’ve been with the Student Loans Company for over 21 years. I started out as an advisor in the collections department and worked my way up to my current post and now have responsibility for over 120 members of staff in the contact centre.

“I was delighted to be nominated for the awards by my managers and winning is a real achievement."

Over 600 senior customer executives from leading public and private sector brands gathered at the Glasgow event and more than 150 short-listed nominees battled it out for the winning entry in more than 20 categories.

Chairman of the judging panel Andrew Mends said: "This year's winners should be exceptionally proud because it was by far the most competitive field ever with a record number of international as well as UK entrants.

“Our panel of 30 judges had a very difficult task due to the quality of submissions being so high.
“We would like to congratulate everyone who made the shortlist, because each one demonstrated a serious commitment to superior customer service."
